The location is a deliberate one. Marina Bay Sands, designed by architect Moshe Safdie, is among Singapore’s most recognisable landmarks. Inside it, Polène’s boutique looks to something older than the building around it: the fishing huts that once lined Singapore's coastline before land reclamation reshaped the shore. The design borrows from those structures—their shelter, their shade, their lightness—and rebuilds them in leather rather than timber.
That idea is clearest overhead. Ceiling-suspended leather panels form a canopy across the boutique, handwoven from full-grain leather, letting light filter through in uneven patches. In places, the weave picks up lines from the Solé bag, a subtle nod to the Maison's own designs rather than a literal illustration of them.

Among the leather compositions on display, Polène is introducing “Craft at Work—A Puzzle of Leather”, an installation that shows visitors how a bag is made. It starts with the first step in the process: cutting the leather with a die. A machine built specifically for this boutique cuts the 36 individual leather pieces that make up the Mokki bag, the same pieces later assembled by hand into the finished bag.
