Joey Samson’s collection at Paskong ‘TernoCon’ was a poetic homage to Filipino culture and history. He artfully integrated a line from Jose Rizal's "Huling Paalam" into one of his pieces, beautifully capturing the essence of Rizal's legacy. The verse read, "Sa gitna ng mga damong masinsin, Hagka’t ang halik mo’y itaos sa akin," resoundinga deep sense of national pride.
Samson drew inspiration from the lives and times of Rizal, as well as his seminal works, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. "The collection evolved to encompass something very Filipino, focusing on our culture and craftsmanship," Samson explained, underscoring his commitment to infusing his designs with historical and cultural depth.
