Here are some of Filipina-American artist Olivia Rodrigo's best fashion moments over the years

Olivia Rodrigo's heart-wrenching lyrics and melody is a hit, and she's motivated to make a mark in the music industry not only as an artist but as a true performer. The Filipino rising star has become the voice of a generation who wishes they could express their heartbreak in song, all while making a lasting visual impression in public appearances and music videos.

She's been spotted wearing different styles, mostly Y2K-inspired looks, but Rodrigo's also been experimenting lately with more elegant choices. Here are our favourite looks so far:

Recently, Rodrigo has been gracing galas all glammed up and looking more elegant as ever. She arrived at the 2021 MET Gala wearing a Saint Laurent lace outfit and donned a sultry Saint Laurent dress at the Academy Museum Opening Gala. Apparently, the artist also looks amazing even in darker pieces that bring out her gorgeous complexion.

2. Teen angst

The spiky bun was all the rage back in the 2000s and Rodrigo looks gorgeous trying out the hairstyle for a photoshoot. It's quite different from her light and colourful style that the world has come to know of which makes her transformation even better. She even paired it with a sharp and dark eyeliner look and a vest top that really took us back to the 2000s.

3. Indie kid

Y2K is now en vogue once more and Rodrigo has completely embraced the 2000s and 90s vibe as she's often seen donning funky hairstyles, more crop tops, leather, pleated skirts, and platform boots. One thing we've learned by looking at Rodrigo's outfits is that she knows how to pull it off.

4. Punk princess

Rodrigo might be known for wearing soft hues, but the artist changed things up a bit for her Deja Vu music video by wearing an Avril-esque outfit: a big dress with boots. The breakup song could not have been presented any better than having an angry Rodrigo in a green dress—which mostly symbolises jealousy—and a sledgehammer in hand as she sings with so much power and angst.

5. Double hairclips

The Good 4 U singer radiates such youth that it's only right for her to don colourful hairclips and florals. But Rodrigo has a way of charming fans with her graceful presence and youthful outfit choices that highlight her femininity.

6. Cosy cardigans and camis

Rodrigo rose to fame when her song Driver's Licence was released alongside a music video where the artist is seen singing her heart out about lost love. Around this time, she has been into cosy chic looks. One simple ensemble that matches her sombre sound was the light-hued cardigan and cami she wore during a live performance at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

7. Tanktop Trend

Considering that Rodrigo loves her camis, it's not at all surprising when tanktops have also become her staple look at some point. It's simple and emphasises her 'down-to-earth' energy that most people admire about the singer.
