See what jewellery designer Melinda Zeman is coveting this week—from Bottega Veneta cargo pants to The Elder Statesman cashmere sweaters
Melinda Zeman, the Chinese Ghanaian jewellery designer and founder of Boochier, lives her life in technicolour. Her penchant for playful aesthetics is not only evident in her jewellery designs but in her wardrobe, too. Never one to shy away from a bold prints or bright splashes of colour, Zeman has her own signature style which sets her apart from most of Hong Kong’s fashion crowd.
At a young age, Zeman became fascinated with jewellery and its role in pop culture: from the lavish and opulent diamonds worn by silver screen sirens like Elizabeth Taylor, to the diamond-encrusted chains draped around the necks of artists like Missy Elliot and Jennifer Lopez. Boochier was born in 2019, inspired by Zeman’s dream to create a new brand for future generations.
A modern collection of fine jewellery with a playful edge, her designs have been worn by some of the city’s biggest stars. As for the future of Boochier, Zeman has her sights set on taking the brand global and says her “ultimate dream” is to see celebrities like Rihanna, Adut Akech Bior, Amina Muaddi and Nini rock her pieces.
