The luxury brand showcases its fresh Resort 2024 pieces, where strength and formidability merge with the feminine and charming

If Italian fashion house Max Mara is known for one thing, it would be its creative approach to classic and tailored silhouettes. Their latest work, the Resort 2024 collection titled Septem Flores, is no exception to this. Delicate weaves and folk-inspired tales were at the forefront of their inspirations, merging its strong and formidable foundations with the feminine and charming.

It only seemed fitting to have held the show in Stockholm, Sweden, where creative director Ian Griffith found great inspiration from. He built on the country’s rich history of being a progressive nation. The Nords, specifically the Vikings, remembered for their ruthless plundering, were a topic of great interest. They were thought to have sowed the first seeds towards gender equality.

This idea drove Griffith to create modern and timeless pieces while maintaining the core spirit of powerful Nordic women, such as the 17th-century Queen Christina of Sweden, a feminist icon to Selma Lagerlöf, a Swedish author and the first female Nobel Prize winner for literature.

Experience all this—history being brought to life—with the statement pieces by Griffith below.

Introducing the Max Mara Resort 2024—Septem Flores

In Stockholm City Hall, a treasured place that testified the celebrations for the Nobel Prizes in Literature and the Sciences, notable names in fashion and society witnessed the brand’s freshest offerings.

Pieces ranged from tailored silhouettes the brand is known and loved for and invigorating prints that complemented the charming mix of textures seen throughout the fashion show.

Also imbibed into the works is the traditional Midsommar folk festival that celebrates the gift of summer. In the show, seven types of wildflowers called Septem Flores made an appearancehence the name of the collection.

According to legend, anyone lucky enough to find one should sleep with them under their pillow to dream of their future loves. This was playfully referenced in the show, with some models wearing flower crowns on the runway.

From modern-looking gigot sleeves, ankle-grazing skirts, elbow-length capes, and chic blouses to wear with bow ties, Max Mara offered a soft and playful rendition of contemporary dressing.

Sided with this is a spirited femininity that’s both timeless and classic.

The endearing touches of braids, luxurious pom poms, tassels, and studs were the cream of the crop. These eye-catching details made the collection stand out even more.
