The airy, vibrant collection was a pleasure to behold

Audiences knew they were in for a great show as they arrived for the Rejina Pyo spring/summer 2022 show at the stately swimming pool at the London Aquatics Center.

As the music began, platform divers Emily Martin, Josie Zillig and Robyn Birch from the Great Britain team scaled the ladders to the platforms and gave us a brilliant show of their skills.

Martin, who has been diving since she was 13, said: “It was amazing to be apart of the Rejina Pyo show. It was a new experience for me, but I loved every minute of it and enjoyed working with all the team. The atmosphere was awesome and you could tell everyone was proud to be part of it, as was I!”

As the divers made their last–and most impressive—splash from the 10-metre board, models emerged in Pyo’s vibrant collection. There were colour-blocked sheer layers of relaxed suiting or delicate knits and pooling knit trousers paired with zesty orange and bubble-gum pink swimsuits made from recycled nylon.

If the faded brights and prints of New York City and Seoul—her hometown—feel a bit nostalgic, that’s because the images were from Pyo’s past travels to those cities, and with her deft storytelling and scene-setting, Pyo certainly transported her audience directly into the summer of 2022.
