From Kaddadía to Every Body, take a look at the brands that continue to make a statement

There was a time when accepting our bodies for what they are—big, small, thin, or curvy—was considered a difficult feat, especially for women. And when things started getting better, with the prevalence of safe spaces online and offline (like ‘Hi Smithy!’ or ‘Kindred’), came the entry of Ozempic and weight-loss drugs. They say it halted the progress communities have made to a certain degree. The weight-loss craze solidified that physical appearances still matter to most people, but only in the matters we try to avoid. And this is just one of the community’s many obstacles.

Still, with great reverence, some people continue to hold the line. Our favourite brands continue to push for diversity, allowing themselves to be a sanctuary for those lacking confidence and spirit. They push us to love ourselves, giving us choices others wouldn’t have considered making.

In this article, Tatler lists a few of the best local shops that promote body positivity—one piece of clothing at a time.

In case you missed it: A look into the weight loss drug that took the internet by storm

1. Kaddadía

Sizing will always be tricky, and Kaddadía does its best to ensure that online shopping is easy for customers of all body types. Apart from a letter guide, there are fit details and model references you can use to shop at your heart’s content.

Kaddadía’s everyday clothes are “made to fit beautiful, resilient, naturally fluctuating bodies” without compromising style or comfort.

In an interview for a news site, founder Yong Davalos mentioned that she created the brand with the wardrobe and sizing struggles of women in mind. Whether dresses, skirts or matching sets, Tayo Studio offers clothes ranging from extra small to 4XL.

3. Every Body

Nina Ellaine Dizon-Cabrera, 2022 Gen.T honouree, has always been a body positivity champion. “I realised that bodies change, and that’s okay,” she shared in an interview with us once. “I may not be where I want to be in terms of physical strength and fitness, but that shouldn’t take away my love for my body.”

Unsurprisingly, she founded Every Body, a clothing boutique where you can “wear your best self.”

4. Love Curves PH

It’s hard to look for clothes that fit and are pretty at the same time.

Love Curves PH, however, made the search much easier. They offer a diverse and stylish range of clothes designed to embrace and enhance every body shape—empowering ladies one step at a time.

Your undergarments can either make or break your outfit. Make sure it’s in a tip-top shape (and size) with Herah Innerwear, whose products promote great comfort and confidence.

The brand’s name is inspired by the word “hurrah,” with “her” replacing the first syllable. It symbolises their mission to empower women through inclusivity and giving back to the community.
