In recent years, celebrities have been embracing vintage fashion like never before. Case in point: Kylie Jenner was spotted with beau Timothée Chalamet at the 82nd annual Golden Globes in yet another dress from the archives
Once thought of as a passing phase, vintage on the red carpet proves to be an enduring trend. Instead of selecting pieces fresh off the runway, more and more celebrities have been turning to designers’ archives for their gala looks.
A-listers making a return to the fashion archives for gala events have come a long way since the first known instance of Demi Moore wearing vintage at the 1992 Academy Awards. Case in point: Kylie Jenner wore vintage haute couture to the 2025 Golden Globes, a worthy sequel to the historic archival gown she donned last year.

This year marks the 82nd Golden Globes, as well as Jenner and boyfriend Timothée Chalamet’s second consecutive appearance at the annual awards ceremony as a couple. In true Jenner fashion, she rocked up to gala in a showstopping silver chainmail dress from Atelier Versace’s spring 1999 collection—the same one Elizabeth Hurley wore to the premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral—paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Last year, Jenner similarly flexed her vintage sartorial credentials by stepping out in a 1998 Hanae Mori haute couture gown. The late designer was Japan’s pioneering fashion designer and founded the first Asian haute couture brand. Mori was also one of just two Japanese women who have had their collections presented on the runways of Paris and New York. These accolades make the plunging lace gown worn by Jenner a truly rare vintage, and a piece of wearable art.

But Jenner isn’t the only A-lister with a penchant for stunning vintage gowns. From Zendaya in an archival Versace dress (Beyoncé wore the same one in 2003) to Bella Hadid in an iconic white column dress from Tom Ford’s Gucci 1996, scroll on to discover some of the best vintage designer looks on red carpets.
