From sculptural details to fluid silhouettes, Natori’s latest collection elevates layering into an art form

For Fall 2025, Natori invites us into a world where craftsmanship meets quiet drama, where softness and structure hold equal weight, and where each piece feels like a study in intentional beauty. The Many Layers of Natori, the brand’s latest Ready-to-Wear collection, reads like a love letter to heritage and modernity—woven together with the elegance that has defined the house for nearly fifty years.

The collection was unveiled at an intimate presentation held at Medusa at The Palace, BGC, where Josie Natori herself welcomed guests alongside president and CEO of SSI Group, Inc Anton Huang, Nikki Huang, Kylie Verzosa and Max Collins. The evening celebrated the brand’s enduring artistry and cultural fusion, bringing together friends and collaborators to experience the collection firsthand.

This season, Natori looks to the layered vocabulary of Japanese dressing, drawing from both centuries-old tradition and the avant-garde revolution that once shifted the fashion landscape. The result is a refined interplay of silhouettes and textures that celebrates ease as much as it does artistry. Nothing feels forced; everything feels considered.

The colour palette sets the tone for this narrative. Earthy neutrals—taupe, stone, and heathered grey—anchor the collection with a grounded calm. They act as a canvas for painterly floral brushstrokes that move across garments like ink in motion. Rich ruby red brings warmth and quiet sensuality, while cool teal punctuates the collection with a serene, modern edge.

Fabrication is where the collection truly shines. Seasonless by design, the materials bridge softness and structure with effortless ease. Fluid crepe knits skim the body with a flirty, romantic sway; structured techno crepe offers a more architectural silhouette; and Japanese taffeta, inspired by shibori techniques, adds a textured dimension that catches the light with subtle intrigue.

True to the brand’s longstanding aesthetic, embellishment plays a pivotal role. Sculptural accents appear like modern armour, adding form and definition without compromising wearability. Three-dimensional florals bloom across bodices and sleeves, offering drama that remains tasteful and controlled. Sequins shimmer in a way that feels more like a glow than a glimmer. The handwork is meticulous, but the overall mood remains relaxed, almost effortless.

What makes the collection especially compelling is its nuanced exploration of layering—not only in the physical sense but as a concept. It speaks to how women dress today: mixing textures, balancing structure with fluidity, shifting between boldness and restraint. It also nods to the rich history of Japanese layering techniques, where garments reveal and conceal in quiet, artful ways. Natori translates this into pieces that can be styled endlessly, building wardrobes that evolve with the wearer.

For nearly five decades, Natori has built its world on the fusion of cultures, on celebrating artistry and on creating garments that honour craft while embracing innovation. The Many Layers of Natori extends this legacy with clarity and confidence. It is a collection that reinterprets the past without replicating it—one that offers a glimpse of what the future of modern femininity can look like: nuanced, expressive, and deeply considered.
