Find out what Columbia graduate and girl-about-town Gillian Ho is buying this week—from Versace jackets to Autopilot trousers
Aspiring lawyer Gillian Ho is as cool as they come. Her Instagram page is a colourful account of her college adventures and unforgettable moments with friends. The Columbia University classics and political science graduate is currently back in Hong Kong working as a senior analyst at law firm Kobre & Kim.
Though her occupation is serious business, Ho uses her downtime to let loose like any other 20-something: touring museums, walking her dogs (their names are Ice Cream, Mocha, Peanut, Sesame, Chocolate and Mochi in case you were wondering), hiking, poking fun at herself, and as she puts it, “coercing” her friends to read and discuss the books she loves. In fact, for her 24th birthday last year, she had her friends read ancient Greek philosopher Plato’s major work, Symposium, in order to discuss it at a round table.
Despite her slightly unconventional ideas for bringing people together, for a woman who is part of one of Asia’s most prominent families, Ho’s down to earth nature is refreshing. And so is her taste in fashion. Check out her top picks in this week’s shopping cart instalment:
Jacket, Versace
“I’m in love with this entire collection and it’s callbacks to the Y2K aesthetic, but I’m particularly obsessed with the cinched and structured jacket on the right. It’s simultaneously chic, smart and rock ’n’ roll. What more can you ask for?”
