The starting point came from the Ferragamo archives: a 1925 image of silent film star Lola Todd dressed head-to-toe in leopard print. This image led Davis to explore the “Africana” movement, a defining aesthetic of the Roaring Twenties. “I was interested in how materials, patterns and fabrics from Africa and the Caribbean were introduced to the United States and Europe, and became status symbols,” says Creative Director Davis. That spirit pulses through the collection in animal-print devoré satin, plongé leather jewellery and fluid fringed detailing.

The Ferragamo collection celebrates the era’s free-spirited grace: speakeasy suits, straight-cut slip dresses trimmed with lace, low-waisted gowns and plunging backs. “This was a time when women were redefining femininity, embracing freedom, reclaiming themselves,” Davis reflects. “People were creating their own space, rebelling against social norms, and that attitude was expressed through clothing.”

Menswear nods to the Harlem Renaissance with zoot suits and bohemian dandy flair; ties appear as tuxedo sashes or patchwork dress details. The decade’s graphic motifs and colour-blocking emerge in vibrant patent leathers with Gancini buckles and fine wools, while floral patterns on crepon silk are reimagined from archival prints.

A sculpted “S” heel updates the famed “F” design from previous seasons. Leather pumps take cues from Ferragamo house’s early Kimo shoe; Gancini chains entwine around the ankle of sharp, pointed-toe pumps; satin mules bloom with beaded flowers; high-heeled sandals are tied with satin bows. The men’s derby is refined into an elongated, elegant form, while loafers and glossy leather sandals evoke an effortless sense of ease.

The iconic Hug bag appears in refreshed forms; patent, woven, crocodile-embossed leather and nubuck joined by a compact foulard in seasonal prints and colours, finished with a detachable Gancini charm. An archival clutch gleams with a gold Gancini clasp; feathers adorn designs, trimming bags or lining the Soft model. For men, exquisite craftsmanship shines in woven leather detailing on the Hug and Sailor pieces.
