Prepare for a new wave of classics as Kim Jones and ERL Creative Director Eli Russell Linnetz present Dior spring 2023 men's collection

Light and colours populated Windward Avenue in Venice Beach, Los Angeles during the Dior spring 2023 men's capsule collection. The pieces, which stood out against an ocean-themed backdrop, are a blend of Californian culture and Parisian haute couture.

The silhouettes presented on the Venice Beach runway are a reinvention of the Dior classics as reimagined by Kim Jones and guest designer Eli Russell Linnetz, Creative Director of ERL, who grew up in the neighbourhood, making him the perfect choice for the collection.

Go with the Flow

Linnetz and Jones drew inspiration from the Gianfranco Ferré archive, allowing them to play around with gold and unique embroidery. Some of the embellishments feature designs that appeared like moving water through the refraction of light.

Holiday Spirit

One daring look from the collection is the red plaid ensemble. According to Linnetz, Jones wanted to "Explore the sense of Americana". The ERL Creative Director then dreamed up sweaters that scream 90s nostalgia, a nod to popular holiday movies by American filmmakers such as Home Alone.

Moreover, some of the looks that defined the work of Jones and Lennitz were those with playful tones and skate shoes. It is, without a doubt, the epitome of "California couture".
