The oldest fine leather goods house in the world is setting up shop in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Here's what you need to know.
Delvaux was founded in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, in 1829. It is widely regarded as the inventor of the modern handbag, having filed the first-ever handbag patent in the world in 1908. For almost two centuries, Delvaux has earned a reputation for being the best in the industry for fine leather goods, with a rich archive of over 3,000 designs, emblematic addresses around the world, including Saint-Honoré in Paris, New Bond Street in London, and Fifth Avenue in New York City, as well as an impressive clientele of the most stylish and influential individuals, from royalty to Hollywood celebrities. In fact, it has been the official purveyor to the Royal Court of Belgium since 1883.

For instance, the Brilliant and Pin silhouettes are reimagined in a surprisingly new material, grey felt, accentuated with contrast leather trim in lime green, honey golden and opulent tan. The genderless and spacious Brilliant L’XXL by Jean Colonna makes its comeback, notably with a camouflage Dream Calf leather. Delvaux also introduces a brazenly oversized version of the Tempête bag, aptly named the Tempête XL Fly.
