Cover From playful couture florals to elevated gorpcore, Tatler Singapore’s resident fashion monster Adriel Chiun explores the styling principles behind Christian Louboutin’s autumn/winter 2026 collections at the Maison’s Ion Orchard boutique

Guests at Christian Louboutin’s Ion Orchard boutique discovered the inspirations behind the Maison’s autumn/winter 2026 women’s and men’s collections and explored the season’s standout trends

Christian Louboutin’s autumn/winter 2026 collections took centre stage at the Maison’s Ion Orchard boutique as guests gathered for an intimate styling workshop led by Tatler Singapore’s resident fashion monster, Adriel Chiun. Equal parts masterclass, fashion history lesson and styling clinic, the session unpacked the inspirations, craftsmanship and playful spirit behind Christian Louboutin’s latest women’s and men’s collections while offering practical advice on how to wear them with confidence.

Chiun began by revisiting the story behind one of fashion’s most recognisable design signatures: the iconic red sole. Created almost by accident in 1993 when Christian Louboutin painted the underside of a shoe with his assistant’s red nail polish, the instantly recognisable flourish has since become a universal symbol of glamour. Guests were also introduced to the designer’s enduring philosophy that he was never simply interested in making beautiful shoes, but in making women feel beautiful. As Chiun explained, Louboutin’s creations have always been about transforming posture, confidence and presence as much as appearance.

That philosophy carries effortlessly into the women’s autumn/winter 2026 collection, where nature becomes unapologetically couture. Crystal-encrusted snails, jewel-like grapes, glossy bananas and sculptural vegetables are elevated into luxurious embellishments that celebrate imagination over convention. Rather than taking fashion too seriously, the collection embraces wit and optimism, encouraging wearers to pair whimsical statement footwear with clean, understated tailoring. The result is a wardrobe that feels joyful, polished and unmistakably modern. As guests were reminded throughout the workshop, if a look makes you smile, you are styling it correctly.

The session then turned to the Maison’s evolving menswear universe, which enters an exciting new chapter under Jaden Smith, who joined Christian Louboutin in September 2025 as the Maison’s first-ever Men’s Creative Director. Beyond designing four collections annually, Smith now oversees the creative direction of the men’s business across footwear, leather goods, accessories, campaigns and immersive brand experiences, bringing a fresh perspective to the expanding category.

The autumn/winter 2026 men’s collection reflects that progressive spirit through a refined interpretation of gorpcore, blending technical outdoor influences with the elegance of luxury craftsmanship. Performance fabrics sit comfortably alongside precise tailoring, while new styles such as the Plato Loafer and Trapman demonstrate that modern luxury no longer asks men to choose between comfort and sophistication. Bold details, including Molten finishes, NeoCL branding and the Canopy signature, become focal points within otherwise understated ensembles, reinforcing one of the workshop’s key styling principles: when your shoes are this interesting, they deserve the final word.

Throughout the afternoon, Chiun encouraged guests to approach fashion not as a set of rigid rules, but as an expression of personality. If the women’s collection celebrates play, the men’s collection champions performance; together, they reveal a Maison that continues to balance impeccable craftsmanship with irreverence, proving once again that the most memorable style is often the one worn with confidence, curiosity and joy.
