On 3 December 2024, Chanel’s Métiers d’art 2024/25 collection will be unveiled in Hangzhou, China, with the fairy-tale setting of West Lake as its backdrop.
The iconic West Lake in Hangzhou will host the presentation of the Chanel Métiers d’art 2024/25 collection. This fabled site also appears on a 19th-century Coromandel lacquer screen, now on display in Gabrielle Chanel’s study at 31 rue Cambon, Paris.
A long-time source of inspiration and wonder, the screen once stirred the imagination of Mademoiselle Chanel. Today, it becomes the muse for acclaimed director Wim Wenders, who has crafted a short film merging the elegance of Paris with the timeless beauty of Hangzhou. Featuring Chanel ambassador Tilda Swinton, the film’s trailer offers a glimpse into a poetic, dreamlike journey, to be revealed on 30 November 2024.
