One of the highly reputable shops that offer custom tailoring for suits and barong tagalogs is Tiño, which was founded by Napoleon Arienza, a Tarlac-born tailor who worked at the House of Brioni in Rome, Italy decades ago. Considered today as one of the renowned master tailors in the country, Arienza intended to continue his family's tailoring business from the '60s to encourage the new generation to appreciate this artistic form of men's fashion. In 2012, he opened his shop in Makati and since then been offering premium fabrics like London's Holland & Sherry. Here's a fun fact: Arienza once made a suit in the '90s for Pierce Brosnan when he succeeded the iconic role of James Bond!

9. Signo Custom Clothing

Yes, bespoke suit tailoring or even just barong Tagalog could be really expensive. But if you're the type of person who wants to have more for a reasonable price, and still have artisanal quality, then try to visit this humble store along España Boulevard. Renz Signo, a millennial master tailor traces his humble beginnings as a scholar of then Vice Mayor Isko Moreno of Manila. What inspired him to put up a luxury business that could reach the middle class was his experience of being discriminated at a luxury shoe boutique before. Now at Signo Custom Clothing, one could have a full-canvas men's suit for as low as PHP16,000 and choose from his array of originally designed leather shoes.

10. Masanting Sastreria

Another local bespoke tailor shop that has an interesting origin story is Masanting Sastreria of couple Mark and Carin Aguas. In Kampampangan, masanting means that something or someone is handsome or beautiful. Aside from the founders being hailed from Pampanga, the founders explained during the 2018 Artefino that they wanted to showcase Filipino artistry and craftsmanship on a global scale through their business. That is because the shop started its operations in New York City in 2010, inspired by Mark's difficulty in finding suits that would fit his Asian built while working there. Try Masanting Sastreria's signature 'house cut', which is timelessly classic in design and comfortable enough for the Filipino dapper man.
