The Adidas Samba Jane returns with a silhouette inspired by the ballerina aesthetic, with JD Sports-exclusive colourways
For decades, the adidas Samba has been one of the most recognisable sneakers in the world. Originally designed as an indoor football shoe in 1949, the silhouette evolved from sports equipment to a streetwear staple embraced by athletes, musicians, and fashion enthusiasts alike. The adidas Samba Jane merges the sporty heritage of the Samba with the feminine charm of a Mary-Jane shoe.

A dainty design
While the aesthetic leans unmistakably fashion-forward, the design remains grounded in the elements that made the Samba an icon. The signature T-toe suede overlay and streamlined terrace sole remain intact, anchoring the silhouette firmly within the Adidas archive.

What elevates this iteration are its delicate embellishments. A pleated, ruffled trim adds a playful touch, while a metallic heart-shaped Trefoil charm at the heel introduces a subtle, jewellery-inspired flourish. The lace-free design—true to the Mary Jane archetype—keeps the design clean and graceful, reinforcing its hybrid identity between a sneaker and ballet flat.

The result is a silhouette that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new, quietly cementing its place within the growing sneakerina movement that continues to captivate fashion insiders and street-style devotees alike.
The first of the duo, Cloud White/Core Black, is the epitome of effortless cool. Crisp white leather is punctuated by the unmistakable black Three Stripes, echoing the timeless codes that have defined the Samba for decades.
For those drawn to a gentler palette, Cream/Mauve offers a romantic counterpoint. Warm cream leather meets delicate mauve accents—an unexpectedly sophisticated pairing that lends the sneaker a contemporary yet almost vintage charm.
