Stand out and walk down the aisle in these elegant, stylish, and simple white dresses from your favourite K-Dramas

It is a universal truth—at least in the world of K-dramas—that no love story is complete without a breathtaking white gown, a perfectly timed swell of orchestral music, and a groom waiting at the end of the aisle, looking appropriately smitten. In reality, however, the road to bridal perfection is less of a seamless montage and more of a painstaking quest, with fabric swatches, endless fittings and the question: “Is this the one?”

To spare you the sartorial stress (or simply indulge your love for exquisite gowns), we’ve rounded up the most elegant wedding dresses from your favourite K-dramas. These South Korea’s leading ladies never fail to deliver, especially when it comes to aisle-worthy style.

In 2016, the internet fawned over the sweet and almost tragic love story of Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun) and Kim Shin (Gong Yoo). K-drama Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (popularly known as Goblin), follows the story of 900-year-old goblin (Shin) who waits for his human bride so he could finally rest in the afterlife.

As the story progresses, Shin develops strong feelings for his bride Eun-tak, but as faith would have it, the latter only exists to end the goblin's life. After defying their tragic faith, Shin and Eun-tak decided to marry each other. The goblin's bride wore a straight dress from Jenny Packham's 2015 Bridal Spring collection.

Korean series Start-Up kept us sane amid the COVID-19 quarantine. Before the show ended, everyone wondered whether Seo Dal-mi (Bae Suzy) would end up with Nam Do-san (Nam Joo-hyuk) or Han Ji-pyeong (Kim Seon-ho).

Luckily, just before the credits rolled out, photos of Dal-mi and Do-san were seen on top of an office table implying that the two are happily married.

Dal-mi is seen wearing Safiyaa's Dara bridal gown which highlights a beautiful square neck long dress in ivory heavy crepe, with satin stretch lotus sleeve drape.

If there is one K-drama that fueled our anger so much that we almost scraped the walls, it would have to be The World of The Married. Its lead characters Ji Sun-woo (Kim Hee-ae) and Lee Tae-oh (Park Hae-joon) have undeniably delivered some of the best performances on TV.

Even if the on-screen couple did not end up on good terms, fans could never forget the short scene where pregnant Sun-woo was seen in a white, long-sleeved wedding dress with a collar.

Inspired by a classic Joseon legend, Hallyu stars Lee Min-ho and Jun Ji-hyun gave life to the characters of Heo Joon-jae and Sim Chung respectively.

The K Drama Legend of the Blue Sea shows a scene where Chung projected a memory of her and Joon-jae getting married. The couple looked dashing as husband and bride but everyone's eyes were glued to Chung's asymmetrical and plain wedding gown.

Park Bo-young looked like a young and perky bride when she played the role of Bong-soon in Strong Girl Bong Soon. Her white high-low dress from Belle Epoque features a layered long-train gown, specifically cut before the knees to highlight the bride's wedge.

The gown is also covered in patterned silk sleeves that goes a little beyond the elbows.

Nothing else screams elegance like Kim Mi-so's (Park Min-young) wedding dress in What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?. The off-shoulder wedding gown was unlike any of the office attires she has worn throughout the series. Looking elegant as ever, the Hallyu star definitely had as all swooning!

Entrepreneur and chaebol heiress Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won) was an absolute vision when she married Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun). Her main wedding gown was a sleek ball gown from Canadian fashion designer Rita Vinieris' 2017 Alyne collection. The details are subtle but impactful: a sweetheart neckline that opens up to off-shoulder sleeves and a luxurious satin fabric. She jazzed up the look with a tiara, an embellished veil, Chaumet earrings and, of course, a Bulgari Serpenti wedding ring.

She also had another look, a more embellished Lanesta piece, which she dressed up simply with a classic veil and dainty earrings.

9. ‘Full House’

This OG K-drama may have aired over 20 years ago, but Han Ji-eun's (Song Hye-kyo) dreamy high-low gown is still very on-trend. The cream mini-dress is covered with floral lace appliques from straps to hem and spills over to a frothy train. She complements the wedding gown with matching gloves, a dainty tiara, an elbow-length veil and gold statement heels.

10. ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’

Extraordinary Attorney Woo

You really can't beat the elegance of a traditional but impeccably executed gown. This wedding dress played a central role in the second episode of Extraordinary Attorney Woo. It malfunctions during the ceremony, causing the marriage to fail and leading to an expensive legal battle for damages. Attorney Woo (Park Eun-bin) goes undercover to see how the wedding organising team could have possibly made the costly error. She doesn't get married, but when Lee Jun-ho (Kang Tae-oh) catches her looking ethereal in this dreamy number, he starts seeing her in a different light.

11. ‘Marry My Husband’

Most wedding dresses in K-drama veer towards simpler silhouettes, so, when Kang Ji-won (Park Min-young) showed up to her ceremony in this coutoure Galia Lahav creation, viewers collectively gasped. The silver diaphanous bodice comes speckled with crystal embroidery and 3D flowers. Adding more shine to her bridal glow are a bejewelled diadem and Buccellati jewels.

This Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik K-drama may not have been the most popular show of 2024, but the former's two wedding dresses in the last episode deserve a special mention. They look simple, befitting her character's (an overworked doctor) understated style. However, they're designer. Giambattista Valli is responsible for the full-lace short dress, while the delicate gown with a floral lace motif is by Monique Lhuillier.

13. ‘The Penthouse 2’

Cheon Seo-jin (Kim So-yeon) wore numerous wedding dresses for her Season 2 wedding, but our favourite has to be this structured Pronovias piece; the elaborate shoulders balancing the otherwise sleek and simple v-shaped neckline and fitted silhouette. She would later change into more ostentatious designs by premium South Korean bridal shop Bridal Kong, including a feathered and beaded ensemble, a frothy ball gown and a lacy, serpentine dress with a tulle cape.
