It’s that time of the year again! Fashion’s biggest night out, AKA the Met Gala, has made its much-anticipated annual return on the first Monday in May in typical fashion, taking over the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute with a star-studded couture extravaganza unlike any other. Themed “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” this year’s exhibition sees the revival of one-of-a-kind archival garments dating back from 400 years of fashion history, whilst the dress code, “The Garden of Time,” honours the theme with melancholic florals and nature-infused motifs.
Whilst the glamorous affair is all about celebrating fashion, style and beauty come hand in hand, and the Met Gala’s most spectacular ensembles are not without a remarkable makeover to elevate each look to a show-stopping perfection. To nobody’s surprise, Zendaya came on top as the best dressed of the affair once again with her custom Maison Margiela gown by none other than John Galliano, inspired by a number from Christian Dior’s spring 1999 couture collection. Her look was perfectly finished with a romantic goth glam done by Pat McGrath, topped off with a feathered Philip Treacy headpiece.

And it didn’t stop there. Later in the evening, she closed off the red carpet in a second look (because why not), a vintage Givenchy spring 1999 couture gown with a flower bouquet headpiece from the Alexander McQueen spring-summer 2007 collection, made by Philip Treacy.
