Louis Vuitton makes its long-anticipated entry into beauty with La Beauté Louis Vuitton, a debut collection led by renowned makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath. The launch spans lipsticks, balms and eyeshadows—melding the maison’s heritage with McGrath’s artistry
Louis Vuitton has officially entered the world of colour cosmetics. The French maison unveiled La Beauté Louis Vuitton, its first-ever makeup collection, led by Dame Pat McGrath, the industry legend now appointed as creative director of cosmetics. The move marks one of the most significant expansions for the house in recent years, signalling that beauty will now sit alongside its fashion, accessories and fragrance pillars.
The debut campaign, shot by Steven Meisel and directed by Damien Krisl, stars Vuitton ambassador Hoyeon alongside models Ida Heiner, Chu Wong and Awar Odhiang. Set against surreal backdrops of crimson deserts and pastel lakes, the images place Vuitton’s debut firmly in the realm of beauty-as-fantasy, while spotlighting the bold pigments and polished finishes of the collection. Think bold lips, luminous eyes, and the statement-making glamour that McGrath has perfected throughout her career.

The launch introduces 55 shades of LV Rouge lipsticks, 10 LV Baume lip balms and 8 LV Ombres eyeshadow palettes. Designed by industrial designer Konstantin Grcic, the refillable cases echo Vuitton’s trunk-making heritage—objects intended as much for display as for daily use.

For Vuitton, the appointment of McGrath is a decisive move. Widely regarded as one of the most influential makeup artists working today, she brings the credibility and creative authority needed to make Vuitton’s beauty line more than a sideline.
The release follows the maison’s strategy of treating beauty as both luxury object and cultural statement. “More than just products, it is the expression of identity, artistry, and empowerment,” the house notes—a sentiment underscored by the dreamlike campaign and McGrath’s bold colour language.
La Beauté Louis Vuitton launches on louisvuitton.com August 25 and in-stores globally on August 29.
