The relationships that Dr. Tan has built over the years have also allowed Mizu to build a community of avid believers in aesthetics in the Lion City. “It’s about the sincerity and heart that we put into each and every patient, much like the Japanese way of hospitality ‘omotenashi’ that we base our philosophy on. We strive for long-term friendships with our patients and not short-term, transactional ones. My very first patients when I first started the clinic still remain my patients today,” he shares.

What is your favourite part of the day?

Authentic and deep connection fills my cup, and the best days for me are those that establish that for me both at home and work. At work, one of the favourite parts at The Paper Bunny is connecting with my team, understanding their ideas and their blockers, and seeing them excited to go further. At home, a favourite of mine is definitely spending quality one-on-one time with my kids at each of their bedtimes, and with Justin after the kids go to bed.

How would you describe the relationship you have with your skin?

The relationship I have with my skin is often snappy and demanding. I want bouncy translucent skin but often don’t know how to get there, I slap on skincare in hopes of finding a quick miracle, and I demand efficiency in every treatment I do, hoping to find a quick way to seeing results. I have a combination skin type. I’m often told that my skin is dry on the inside but relatively oily on the outside. I wish I knew how to better take care of it.
