From a rejuvenating SkinCeuticals facial to watching the action from Casa Ferrari, we spent an afternoon enjoying the Singapore Grand Prix at a slightly more leisurely pace

Over the weekend, Singapore was abuzz once again with the return of the annual Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix. This year’s edition was one of the most exciting, with a star-studded entertainment line-up and a packed calendar of events and activities across the city adding to the excitement both on and off the track. Of course, there was also the sweltering heat, haze and humidity to contend with, making a day at the Marina Bay Street Circuit as exhausting as it was exhilarating.

This year, we were invited by SkinCeuticals to spend the first day of the race weekend at Casa Ferrari, where the skincare brand had set up a rather unusual pit stop. Instead of changing tyres or making adjustments to a race car, this one involved facial treatments designed to leave guests feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

It was part of SkinCeuticals’ new multi-year partnership with Scuderia Ferrari HP, which sees the former become the Formula 1 team's first Official Skincare Partner. Having already brought its Pit Stop Treatment Spa to races in Monaco and Italy, SkinCeuticals was now offering the experience to guests at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Our afternoon began with a 30-minute appointment for the Redline Light Finish, one of three treatments available at Casa Ferrari. Designed to soothe stressed skin and restore hydration, it seemed particularly appropriate given Singapore's tropical climate.

The facial started with a thorough cleanse and gentle exfoliation using an ultrasonic device, before SkinCeuticals’ P-TIOX peptide serum was applied to help smooth the appearance of fine lines. This was followed by a relaxing facial massage, LED light therapy and soothing products from the brand’s Phyto Corrective range, which helps calm redness and irritation. The finishing touches included C E Ferulic, SkinCeuticals’ signature vitamin C antioxidant serum, moisturiser and sunscreen.

While the treatment promised plenty of skincare benefits, what we enjoyed most was simply being able to lie back and relax. In fact, the facial was so soothing that we almost fell asleep. For half an hour, we could forget about the excitement outside and enjoy some much-needed quiet time. It was a welcome break from the adrenaline of Formula 1, not to mention the heat and humidity. Afterwards, we were treated to a makeup session, so we could head back out to enjoy the rest of the day's festivities looking and feeling refreshed.

Then, we headed to the rooftop of Casa Ferrari to catch the first practice session of the weekend. With a prime view of the pit straight at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, the hospitality space offered an excellent vantage point to watch the Formula 1 cars speed past, with the unmistakable roar of the engines adding to the excitement.

Of course, the hospitality experience was another highlight. Casa Ferrari had plenty to keep guests entertained between the on-track sessions, especially when it came to food and drinks. Hot food stations served freshly made pizzas alongside a selection of Italian and local dishes, while cheese and charcuterie platters added to the spread. There was certainly no shortage of options.

There was also a gelato cart, which was particularly welcome in the Singapore heat, while the bars offered a selection of cocktails. Among them were the Leclerc Spritz, named after Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, and the Chivas Rosso Sour. With a drink in hand and plenty of food to enjoy, it was easy to while away the hours before the next session.

As evening fell, the atmosphere around the circuit grew even more electric. At 8.30pm, we settled in to watch sprint qualifying, which brought another round of excitement as the drivers pushed their cars around the floodlit street circuit. By the time the session ended, it was time to call it a night. Between the racing action, delicious food and drinks, and the unexpectedly relaxing facial, it had been a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and evening at Casa Ferrari.

And while a facial might not be the first thing that comes to mind when planning a day at the Singapore Grand Prix, after experiencing one in the middle of all the excitement, we certainly wouldn't mind making it a regular part of our race weekend.
