At SM Makati, Cetaphil brought together dermatologists, skincare experts and brand ambassador Anne Curtis to share science-backed tips, ingredient advice and gentle solutions for every type of sensitive skin
Sensitive skin doesn’t wear just one face. For some, it’s the sting of redness; for others, it’s dry patches, dark spots or a barrier that reacts to the smallest change in weather. That truth sat at the heart of Cetaphil’s National Healthy Skin Mission, launched with Watsons, SM Beauty and Galderma Philippines at SM Makati.
The event doubled as an education hub, underscoring that there’s more to sensitive skin than meets the eye. Guests explored different product textures, learned how skin needs vary from person to person and spoke with experts about what truly works for their unique skin concerns.

Louie Roxas, general manager of Galderma Philippines, drove home the scale of the challenge: “Seventy per cent of Filipinos suffer from sensitive skin… and the Philippines ranks number one in Southeast Asia in terms of incidence.”
Watsons Philippines’s controller for skincare, cosmetics, fragrance and beauty business unit, Frank Patricio Jr, framed the campaign as more than just product promotion. “The way to healing sensitive skin is more than just knowing you have it,” he says. “It’s having the knowledge to improve your skin’s health.”
That knowledge came courtesy of dermatologist Dr Zharlah Flores, who traced sensitive skin back to genetics, environmental triggers and lifestyle factors like stress or lack of sleep. She broke down its many faces—from rough, bumpy textures to fine, visible capillaries—and recommended a shortlist of skin-friendly ingredients (which are also present in Cetaphil products, including their new Soothing and Comforting line): Centella asiatica, allantoin and pentavitin, which help visibly reduce redness and provide up to 24 hours of skin-barrier protection.

Taking the stage, actress and brand ambassador Anne Curtis also shared how post-pregnancy hyperpigmentation led her to the Bright Healthy Radiance range. “I tried different products to lighten my hyperpigmentation, but they caused chemical burns. This is gentle enough even for the most sensitive skin.” She also reminded attendees of two simple, non-negotiable habits: cleansing well and using SPF daily.
Whether it’s dryness, hyperpigmentation, rough and bumpy texture, redness-prone skin, or even delicate baby skin, there is a dedicated Cetaphil line designed to address each sensitive skin type. From baby care with calendula to the new Soothing & Comforting range for redness-prone skin, every collection had its own dedicated space. Visitors could customise bottles, swap non-Cetaphil products for samples and even shop the full selection (Cetaphil, Cetaphil Bright Healthy Radiance, Cetaphil Baby, Cetaphil Pro-AD and BENZAC, among others) on-site.

Mark Sarmiento, business unit head for Cetaphil, summed it up: “Sensitive skin isn’t one-size-fits-all. With Cetaphil, you can address each concern with solutions backed by clinical science.”
Running until August 31, the National Healthy Skin Mission is a reminder: more than just quick fixes, caring for sensitive skin is about understanding your skin’s unique needs and treating it with the right science, one product and one habit at a time.
