Kicking off the festive season in high style, the event brought our guests on personalised shopping experiences at Diptyque, Gucci Beauty and Kate Spade New York
An afternoon of retail therapy, shopping privileges and a decadent high tea to cap it all off: who could say no to that?
Friends of Tatler Singapore were treated to just that during a recent private shopping event at Raffles City Singapore. As the holidays draw near, it was the perfect opportunity for this select group of ladies to immerse themselves in all the festive wonders Raffles City has to offer—from Christmas gift sets to ready-to-wear holiday collections and beauty coffrets galore.
Ready for a serious shopping session, our invited guests were ushered to three different boutiques around the mall: Diptyque, Gucci Beauty and Kate Spade New York. At each stop, exclusive shopping privileges awaited them including special discounts, gift-with-purchases and the chance to earn STAR$ on the CapitaStar mobile app with every purchase made that day.

Among them were the gold carousel and lantern decorative accessories, paired with Diptyque candles for a whimsically festive effect, as well as bath and body gift sets in the brand’s signature scents. An engraving service was also provided for customers to personalise their purchases with beautifully-inscribed initials.

Over at Gucci Beauty, our beauty enthusiasts were in for a surprise as they were treated to an Alchemist's Garden Fragrance discovery session, led by the brand’s national makeup artist. Scent lovers took the chance to sniff and savour Gucci’s haute perfumery line, which offers an intoxicating array of eau de parfums, perfumed oils and floral waters that can be mixed and matched to create a truly one-of-a-kind scent. At the same time, the ladies also enjoyed mini makeovers and shade matching services by Gucci beauty advisors using the brand’s best-sellers such as the Éternité de Beauté foundation and satin lipstick range.

Last but not least, it was a spontaneous trip to the Big Apple with Kate Spade New York—best known for its vibrant and playful aesthetic characterised by bold colours, whimsical patterns and tongue-in-cheek accessories. Brand representatives were on hand to introduce the holiday collection, as well as share styling tips on how to dress for the festive season. From frocks to sparkly baubles and fancy footwear, there was plenty for our guests to discover as they explored the boutique and tried on some party looks.

Arms laden with their loot from the afternoon of shopping, our guests finally made their way over to Surrey Hills Grocer for tea. Serving rustic fare with a side of warm Australian hospitality, this was the perfect pitstop to cap off our intimate shopping event on a decadent note. Amidst the warm and relaxed setting of the café, guests tucked into smoked salmon blinis, fried French toast doughnuts and other hearty small bites. On the menu were also a selection of thirst-quenching beverages including prosecco, teas and Surrey Hills’ signature coffee blend.
