A wellness retreat tends to be the holiday you promise yourself after a busy year, the one where the only plan is to rest and reset. If Sri Lanka is where you’d like to take it, since May tourists from 40 countries can get a 30-day visa free of charge, enough time for a two- or three-week stay. At half of the retreats here, every stay starts with a doctor’s consultation and a treatment plan that runs over several days, so how long you stay shapes what you get out of it. We’ve noted how long a stay runs at each, in the hills, the countryside and on the coast. Think about the last time you were somewhere truly dark—where you could step outside, let your eyes adjust and see the night sky without urban glow. Beyond the spectacle of stargazing lies a simpler health reset: trading constant artificial light for the true darkness our circadian systems need. Jaipur Rugs (@jaipurrugs) has opened its first Mumbai flagship, a 20,000 sq ft showroom in a former Victorian cotton mill warehouse at Empire Mills in Lower Parel. The area is part of Girangaon, the old mill district whose spinning sheds and cotton warehouses helped earn Mumbai the nickname “Manchester of the East”. Roar designed the interior and largely preserved the warehouse’s original steel structure, pitched roof and high clerestory windows. Inside, the studio used fractal geometry to reflect the repetition of hand-knotting. Stepped cuboid volumes, first designed to hide the existing columns, now serve as display platforms, gallery walls and reflective installations. Roar is a Dubai-based interior design studio founded in 2013 by India-born Pallavi Dean. Dean has described Jaipur Rugs as a brand that sells stories through its rugs. She has also said that working inside a century-old textile mill meant helping to bring a piece of Mumbai’s industrial heritage back to life. 📍 Empire Mills, Lower Parel, Mumbai Interior design: @designbyroar Photography: @avesh.gaur
An evening where art, music, high jewellery, and gastronomy converged in celebration of creativity and culture. The @bigartfestival gala in Singapore brought together distinguished names from across the arts and luxury worlds for a night of performances, conversations, and considered indulgence, with each element offering its own expression of artistry. From the stirring vocals of headliners @ildivo to the works and talents that set the evening’s tone, the gala was a reminder that art is never confined to a single medium. It lives in the emotions a melody evokes, the craftsmanship behind a treasured object, and the flavours that linger long after the last course.

Stories of ghosts, spirits and other supernatural beings are a big part of folklore across Asia, shaped by old beliefs about the afterlife, family and how the dead should be remembered. Many of these tales have also made their way into film and TV, with Sadako crawling out of a television set in ‘Ringu’ and the Saja Boys of ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ styled after Korea’s grim reaper. Here are a few of them and where you can spot them on screen. Tap the link in bio to meet more supernatural beings from Asian folklore. Photos: IMDb, MUBI, Netflix
Asian families are great at passing things down, whether that’s the fine china nobody’s allowed to use or a little generational trauma. Usually, it’s both. There’s often a reason for the trauma - Many parents and grandparents lived through war, occupation or starting over in a new country, but rarely talked about what they went through. Their experiences shaped how they raised their children, and the effects can carry on for generations. These books by Asian authors explore that legacy through stories of colonial rule, Partition and migration, and what it takes to make peace with the past. Tap the link in bio for the full list. A beautiful office is not the same as a healthy one. Design wins awards for how a space looks, but your health is decided by how an office responds on an ordinary day: whether the air keeps up when a room fills, whether there is somewhere to think and whether anyone responds when people say something isn't working. If you run an office or simply work in one, those are fair questions to ask. Swipe for what makes an office health, then send this to the colleague who always knows which meeting room gets stuffy first. #TatlerLimitless Photo: ChatGPT
