A moving tale of love languages, faith, and perseverance

Be it Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, or Deepavali, cultural festivals and celebrations in Malaysia aren't complete without commercials and short films that will either make us burst at the seams with laughter or warm our hearts and evoke feelings of nostalgia. It's what Malaysians look forward to year after year.

In conjunction with this year's Hari Raya, CIMB Islamic has released Harga Keyakinan (which translates to 'the price of faith'), a short film that tells a tale of love languages, faith, perseverance, and above all, family. The heartwarming, three-minute video stands out for its key message: keeping a relationship together is hard work. It's something every set of parents or couple can relate to.

It's incredibly moving to watch Fuad and Sarah tirelessly striving to make ends meet, all while dedicating themselves to their marriage and working at building a life together through the love and faith they have towards each other. They speak different love languages but their determination and resilience are admirable and shine through the face of adversity.

Fuad doesn't woo Sarah with grand gestures or words of affirmation but he works hard to build a better life for the family, often sacrificing his personal time to earn a living while Sarah, though at times disheartened, stands by him through thick and thin out of love and trust and is the driving force behind ensuring that their home is warm and welcoming–a powerful reminder that a marriage takes two.

The poignant story culminates in a joyful Hari Raya celebration with Fuah, Sarah, and their two grown-up children dressed up in their finest traditional attire, ringing in the festivities and receiving blessings.

Harga Keyakinan depicts that it pays to stand by someone no matter what perceptions are built in the beginning or the challenges that one has to go through, all while highlighting the significance of family bonds and encapsulating the true spirit of Hari Raya.
