Rather than purchasing new books, why not opt for books that have already been loved? Started by a group of students from NUS, Thryft is an online bookstore that sells second-hand books. A wide range of books are available, including textbooks, biographies, and local and international literature. What’s more, the bookstore allows us to trade in our old books for credits, which can be used to purchase even more books on the marketplace. The store also does occasional pop-ups around the island.

Ditch the store-bought soap and opt for handmade soap bars instead. This homegrown online store offers cold process soaps that are vegan, paraben free and synthetics-free.
