At Tatler Ball 2024, every bid matters. Explore the auction lots designed to support an education initiative

Imagine a world where every talented child, no matter their background, has the tools they need to shine. That’s exactly why Tatler has selected ConnectEd: Tech for All by Her Legacy Project as the beneficiary of our 23rd Anniversary Ball. We are on a mission to provide laptops to gifted but marginalised children in last mile schools across the Philippines.

By equipping them with the technology they need, we’re not just giving them a laptop; we’re opening the door to endless possibilities. We’re empowering them to learn, grow, and chase their dreams.

We urge you to partner with us at the Tatler Ball so that every child can unlock their potential and thrive. Each PhP 50,000 donation covers a laptop and the necessary training for students and teachers to use it effectively. Our goal is to raise PhP 12.5 million, funding 250 laptops for students in last mile schools. All funds will be raised through private donations, Tatler’s own contribution of PhP 500,000, and a charity auction—with the lots featured below.

Please note that 100 per cent of your donation will go directly to the beneficiary, as Tatler is underwriting the costs of the Ball.

Cheques should be made payable to Her Legacy Project Foundation Inc. You will receive an official receipt and a certificate of donation. Please send your donation to the Tatler office, bring it to the Ball, or call us to arrange collection. We thank you for your generosity, which will give children a golden opportunity.

Aside from her unassailable trademark as the foremost painter of Filipino women, Anita Magsaysay-Ho has always been known to be an experimental modernist. The bold one who dared to try and experiment with various media beyond the traditional confines of oil painting.

Anita Magsaysay-Ho bagged the second prize in the second watercolour exhibition of Graphic Arts for her piece Fish Vendors. It is a subject that she would later revisit, particularly in the mid to late seventies, when she painted women by the seaside, fishnets at hand.

Tapestries are considered textile art, typically woven on looms. Magsaysay-Ho, as an artist, immersed herself not just in painting but in other endeavours, including arts and crafts, which can explain her foray into other mediums such as textiles.

Geraldine Javier (born in 1970 in Makati, Philippines) is one of the Philippines’ most important and collected contemporary artists. Since 1995, she has held more than 30 solo exhibitions in the Philippines and around the world. In 2019, she exhibited at the Havana Biennial. She is scheduled to show at Art Basel Miami Beach in December 2024.

Since Javier tends to her organic farm in Batangas every day, she has become a daily witness to the symbiosis of organisms, the behaviour of animals and the processes of nature.

In the Half Finished People Series, Javier highlights a palpable sense of history in every nook and cranny. The message of the piece is entirely up to the viewers’ interpretation. What Javier presents us is a fragmented passage whose completion is entirely dependent on our relationship to it.
