Malaysian Red Crescent Society

The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (Bulan Sabit Merah Malaysia) has been active in flood-affected areas like Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat, Taman Sri Muda and several others to help bring stranded families to safety while also distributing food, toiletries, hygiene kits and other essentials to those who have been displaced from their homes.

Mercy Malaysia

Mercy Malaysia's Humanitarian Fund will be used to mobilise rescue missions to deliver medical assistance, Covid-19 screenings, hygiene supplies, food and other relief items to victims at evacuation centres in Dengkil, Hulu Langat and Shah Alam. 

"We have planned Mercy Malaysia’s Flood Relief operations since November and geared our resources towards the North-East Monsoon (MTL) flood preparedness. Last weekend’s flood disaster around the Klang Valley has caught the whole nation, including Mercy Malaysia, off-guard," said Mercy Malaysia President Dato’ Dr Ahmad Faizal Mohd Perdaus in a recent statement.

"Nevertheless, being a humanitarian organisation that has Total Disaster Risk Management at the core of our values, we were able to quickly mobilise our team of professionals to help Malaysians through this time of need."

Khoon Hooi

Malaysian fashion designer Khoon Hooi is initiating a flood relief online sale from December 23rd onwards till December 31st, where 100% of the proceeds will go to Mercy Malaysia. Additionally, funds collected from the sale will be doubled by the label itself.

Lifestyle items such as face masks, bucket hats, yoga bags and more will be available for sale on their website.

Refuge for the Refugees

Refuge for the Refugees (Persatuan Kebajikan Perlindungan Kanak-Kanak Pelarian) is collaborating with medical NGO Noble Doctors Malaysia and Somali Refugee Community to organise a donation drive for items like blankets, pillows, towels, torch lights, dry food and clothing, which can be dropped off at the collection address pictured above. Malaysian Relief Agency

The Malaysian Relief Agency welcomes donations of supplies like Covid-19 self test kits, face masks, hand sanitiser, infrared thermometers along with dry food supplies and toiletries for flood victims across the Klang Valley. See the full list of required supplies in this Instagram post

The Hope Branch

In addition to accepting donations for hot meals and personal care essentials for flood victims, The Hope Branch also encourages the public to donate baby diapers, face masks, drinking water in refillable bottles, blankets and dry food supplies for residents in places like Bentong, Kampung Melayu Subang and more who are in urgent need. Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia

Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia's emergency relief fund launched on December 19, calling for individuals and corporations to donate food and other necessities for the organisation's relief missions in communities and neighbourhoods that have been damaged by the floods.  

According to an Instagram post by Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia royal patron Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah, power generators and water jet cleaning equipment are urgently needed for clean-up efforts. These items can be dropped off at the Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia Depot Centre in Kajang.

Yayasan Chow Kit

A day care and one-stop refuge centre for high-risk children and youths in Kuala Lumpur, Yayasan Chow Kit's headquarters in Lorong Tiong Nam 5 have been totally wiped out by the floods.

The non-profit organisation is currently in need of construction repairs, furniture, stationery and electronic devices. Anyone who wishes to donate may contact  Ananti at +6017-656 9997 or Anil at +6012-227 3686 for more information. 

Donations can also be made online with a reference code 'REBUILD' to indicate the purpose of the funds.   

 

All Women's Action Society

This week, The All Women's Action Society (AWAM) staff and volunteers prepared food and hygiene packs for the flood victims, using incoming donations to purchase adult and baby diapers, baby and infant formula, sanitary pads, candles, medication, dahl and curry powder.
