With campuses in Kuala Lumpur and Iskandar Puteri, Sunway International Schools offers students a globally focused education shaped by diverse academic pathways, strong values and an environment that encourages learning beyond the classroom
Sunway International Schools (SIS) brings together two campuses in Malaysia—Kuala Lumpur and Iskandar Puteri, Johor—under a shared educational philosophy. Serving students from kindergarten through to pre-university, the schools provide an international learning environment where academic growth is supported alongside personal development.
At the centre of the SIS approach is a commitment to values-led education. Guided by the philosophy “Nurturing Minds. Building Character. Values for Life.”, the schools focus on developing students who are not only academically capable but also thoughtful, confident and prepared to engage with the wider world. Students learn within diverse and multicultural communities, interacting with peers from different backgrounds while building global awareness alongside their academic studies. Across both campuses, the emphasis is on helping students develop independence, resilience and a strong sense of character as they progress through their education.

Diverse academic pathways
Sunway International Schools offers students a wide range of internationally recognised academic options. At SIS Kuala Lumpur, students may enrol in one of two distinct schools: the British School or the Canadian School. The British School delivers the Cambridge International Programme in collaboration with Magdalen College School Oxford, offered exclusively at SIS.
The Canadian School follows the Canadian (Ontario) curriculum. Students may also pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) after Year 11, providing an additional globally recognised pathway for university preparation.
At SIS Iskandar Puteri, the Canadian (Ontario) programme is offered from early years through to secondary school, culminating in the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). The school delivers the Canadian curriculum through the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, creating an inquiry-driven and concept-based learning environment. It is also the only IB Continuum School in Johor, offering the full IB pathway from the Primary years through to pre-university.
Together, these diverse pathways allow families to choose an academic journey that aligns with their child’s interests and aspirations while preparing students for universities around the world.

Connecting with a British academic tradition
A recent collaboration with Magdalen College School Oxford (MCS), one of the United Kingdom’s leading independent schools, further strengthens SIS’ international outlook. The partnership opens opportunities for academic exchange and shared learning, introducing elements of British educational tradition into the SIS environment. Through this relationship, students and educators gain access to broader academic perspectives while building connections with one of the UK’s most established independent schools.
Learning beyond the classrom
While strong academic pathways form the foundation of the SIS experience, learning extends well beyond examination results. Students are encouraged to explore interests, take initiative and develop confidence through co-curricular activities and collaborative learning opportunities. These experiences allow students to build leadership skills, broaden their perspectives and engage meaningfully with their communities.
This broader approach reflects the SIS belief that education should support the development of the whole student. Alongside academic achievement, equal importance is placed on character, curiosity and a sense of responsibility. Across both campuses, the goal is to prepare students not only for university but also for the wider world beyond it. Through diverse academic pathways, international perspectives and a values-led learning environment, Sunway International Schools aims to equip students with the knowledge, confidence and character needed for the future.
