Honourees, past and present, gathered at the Mett Singapore on July 10 to celebrate the city’s newest Gen.T honourees and the platform’s decade-long journey of recognising Asia’s most promising talents
On the evening of Friday, July 10, some 200 guests gathered at Mett Singapore to celebrate the city’s Tatler Gen.T Leaders of Tomorrow 2026—and the platform’s tenth anniversary. The night was made possible with the support of Robert Mondavi Winery, Beluga Vodka, Limwood Gourmet and Supergulp, who kept glasses filled throughout the evening, and DJ Eden, who kept the energy up from start to finish.
Emcees Valerie Lim, regional digital editor of Tatler Leadership, and Ria Singh, business development manager at Tatler Asia, opened the evening with a reminder of what the night was really about. “The Gen.T Leaders of Tomorrow isn’t just a list,” said Lim. “It’s a vibrant community of individuals who are making a significant impact in their respective fields.”
Stephanie Tay, executive managing director of Tatler Singapore and Thailand, and Chong Seow Wei, regional senior editor of Tatler Leadership, then took to the stage for the welcome address. They reflected on a decade of the platform before sharing the process of putting together this year’s list. “At the end of the day, we’re not just putting out a list. We’re making a bet on people,” said Chong.
After the welcome address, the emcees took the audience through one of the evening's most entertaining segments, titled “What They Don’t Put In Their Bio”. Three guests were pulled onto the stage to share something about themselves that doesn’t make it onto a LinkedIn profile.
First up was actress Jo Tan, who revealed she can do 40 push-ups. Then came rapper Shigga Shay, who, when asked whom he’d want to swap lives with, answered OpenAI’s Sam Altman, so he could ensure more good was done with AI than bad. And on the emcees’ request, Shigga also freestyled a rap for Gen.T’s 10th anniversary on the spot without a moment’s hesitation. It was also revealed that the third guest, architect Ong Tze Boon, is an ultramarathoner who’s done some of the world’s most gruelling courses and a champion paraglider.

The highlight of the evening was the welcome ceremony of this year's ten Singapore honourees: Aidx Tech’s Yifan Jia, SR_A’s Yi Ng, Fogo Fungi’s Ryan Ong, Ackcio’s Mobashir Mohammad, clinician-innovator Jasmine Ong, Aleph Technologies’ Suwira Teo, innovator Jaslyn Lee, actor Nathania Ong, footballer Hariss Harun and Tookitaki’s Jeeta Bandopadhyay. Each of them was presented with a personalised magazine with their portraits on the cover.
A shoutout was also made to the ten past honourees—Mirxes’ Zhou Lihan, artist Sam Lo, Gushcloud International’s Althea Lim, Patsnap’s Jeffrey Tiong, Shopback’s Joel Leong, EtonHouse Community Fund’s Hazlina Abdul Halim, powerlifter Farhanna Farid, Aspire’s Andrea Baronchelli, Carro’s Aaron Tan and Jigger & Pony’s Indra Kantono—who were featured alongside them as part of Gen.T’s 10th anniversary cover story in Tatler’s July issue.

To close out the programme, the emcees invited everyone in the room—honourees, guests and partners alike—to raise their glasses and shout in unison: “Happy 10th anniversary, Gen.T!”
Ten years in, it still feels like we're just getting started.
