Co-founder, Jigger & Pony Group
Indra Kantono might have been born in Indonesia, but he considers Singapore as home since he spent much of his formative years at the Little Red Dot. After graduating summa cum laude from New York University Stern School of Business, Kantono became a strategy consultant for Bain & Company and was a principal at Quvat Management.
His life took a different turn upon meeting his now wife Gan Guoyi. Together, they founded their first cocktail bar Jigger & Pony in 2012, and have expanded their business to include contemporary Italian restaurant and bar Caffe Fernet, mid-century Japan-inspired bar Live Twice, and creative small plates and oyster bar Humpback, among others. In 2020, Jigger & Pony clinched the top spot on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list for the first time, and secured the ninth spot in the World’s 50 Best Bars list.
The secret behind the brand’s success? Providing a place where guests can consistently find comfort, forge friendships and share happiness over well-crafted drinks and bites. During the pandemic, this expanded to bringing the experience home. The group created a collection of bottled cocktails called “Pony”, which offers exquisitely made cocktails from a Negroni to an Old Fashioned and even a Sakura Martini.
