Receiving the Chaplin Award makes me even more nervous and I certainly feel the weight of this award—even compared to receiving the Emmy Award. Mountaineer Lhakpa Sherpa took home the Tatler Impact Award for Sports, celebrating a journey defined by inspiring resilience. Sherpa holds the record for the most successful ascents of Mount Everest by a woman, having summited the peak ten times. Her feat as the first Nepali woman to survive climbing and descending Everest has shattered records and inspired countless women globally—a powerful narrative captured in the 2023 Netflix documentary, Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa. She also founded Hiking with Lhakpa, where she organises and leads hikes in the US and the Himalayas.
