Front & Female Awards 2026: Women Shaping Indonesia's Future

In her remarks, Gerrie Beh, Managing Director of Tatler Indonesia and Malaysia, emphasized the vision behind Front & Female's presence in Indonesia as a platform to broaden the narrative about women. She emphasized that the evening was not simply a celebration of achievement, but rather a tribute to the women who shape the face of modern Indonesia. Quoting Michelle Obama, she reminded that there are no limits to what women can achieve, while emphasizing the importance of visibility so that the next generation can see and believe in their potential.

In a quickfire session before the winners were announced, Tatler Indonesia sat down with two of the Front & Female Indonesia Awards 2026 advisory panelists, Retno Marsudi and Herawati Sudoyo, along with Grab Indonesia CEO and Tatler Most Influential 2025 nominee, Neneng Goenadi.

In the session, Retno emphasized the importance of women supporting each other to create more female leaders in various fields. "Women must also be steadfast in maintaining their integrity and being defenders of principles and values."

Echoing Retno, Neneng Goenadi emphasized the importance of mentorship to ensure women feel less alone in their careers. Herawati Sudoyo, a seasoned researcher in the sciences, also shared her experience of being among the few female researchers in a male-dominated industry. She hopes that the emergence of more female leaders across fields will encourage the creation of more safe spaces for women to move, work, and lead.

This year's winners represent a broad spectrum of contributions. From leaders transforming the healthcare sector to innovators bridging science and society, they demonstrate that impact can be created through various channels: in the boardroom, the laboratory, the community, and even creative spaces.

One of the most prominent threads this year was the growing strength of initiatives focused on women's health that were more inclusive and centered on their needs—as seen in the approaches presented by Brawijaya Healthcare, Ovy Health, and Filmore.

On the other hand, contributions from the arts and culture realm also play a significant role in shaping women's narratives, from podcasts that open up spaces for honest conversations, to literary and film works that elevate women's experiences to a broader stage, such as those by Reda Gaudiamo, Nadya Hutagalung, Kamila Andini, and Pancatera.

Equally important, progress is also driven by scientific and technological innovations pioneered by women at the forefront of research, such as Sastia Prama Putri, Taniawati Supali, and Noryawati Mulyono, who through their work are providing real solutions for health, the environment, and food security.

The six winners of the 2026 Front & Female Awards Indonesia represent a broad spectrum of contributions across sectors. Sastia Prama Putri, the Innovation Award recipient, presented a breakthrough in metabolomics research that bridges science with society. Meanwhile, Amira Ganis, the Business Leadership Award recipient, encouraged the transformation of healthcare services to be more humane and inclusive. In the realm of health technology, Sastya Wardani, the Founder Award recipient, expanded access to women's reproductive health through digital innovation. The Architects' Community, the Wellbeing Award recipient, emphasized the importance of collaborative spaces for professional women. Meanwhile, Farwiza Farhan, the Social Impact Award recipient, demonstrated how environmental conservation can go hand in hand with women's empowerment. Completing the list, the Pancatera collective, the Rising Champion Award recipient, provides a space for honest and inclusive dialogue for modern women.

Together, they form the foundation for a more inclusive, equitable, and empowered future.
