Cartier Women's Initiative

Cartier's programme equips fellows with leadership skills that'll help them build and grow their businesses while learning from their peers, entrepreneurs, academics, practitioners, as well as industry experts. The programme will cover topics such as financial modelling and investor readiness. Fellows will also acquire high-performance communication skills including learning how to simplify complex information and enlivening delivery to build trust. Those who would like a mentor can also join the mentorship programme.

The Rockefeller Foundation

For five whole years, The Rockefeller Foundation has already offered several grants worldwide to promote equity and fairness. The foundation has already provided funds to a network of indigenous people in Kenya, Brazil, and Canada, as well as Fiji.

For those who have promising projects in the fields of science, data, policy, and innovation, the Rockefeller Foundation will generously fund their grant request.

Rotary Foundation Global Study Grants

If you're looking for scholarship funding for graduate-level (Master's Degree or Doctorate) coursework or research for one to four academic years, you can apply to the programme offered through The Rotary Foundation Global Grants. 

The programme includes a minimum budget of USD 30,000 (PHP 1.7 million) which can be used for passport/visa, travel expenses, school supplies, tuition, household supplies, and language training courses.

Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme

Students who want to pursue master's and PhD degree programmes at selected French universities can apply for the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme, which is developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Although the programme does not cover tuition fees, it shoulders return trips, health insurance, cultural activities, and the scholarship holder's monthly allowance.

Asian Cultural Council

Artists, scholars, and arts professionals can join fellowships and apply for grants at the Asian Cultural Council to help with the cultural exchange of knowledge among their peers.

The Asian Cultural Council provides funding and logistical and programmatic support to fellows and grant recipients, and may as well include recommendations of sites to visit or activities to participate in to maximise opportunities and experiences.

Fullbright Scholarship Programmes

The Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF), better known as Fullbright or the Fulbright Commission in the Philippines, is a non-profit organisation that offers various Philippine and American scholarship programmes to students. Some of these include the following programmes:

  • Fulbright Foreign Student Programme - allows students to study at the graduate level or pursue research in the United States
  • Humphrey Programme - provides students with a year of non-degree academic study and professional experiences in the United States
  • Global Undergraduate Exchange Programme - students over 18 years old and are from underrepresented, non-elite backgrounds are provided with a scholarship for one semester of non-degree academic study at a college or university in the United States
  • Fulbright-CHED grant - higher education faculty and staff who are currently affiliated with higher education institutions (HEIs) recognised by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) can pursue doctoral studies in the United States with the objective of improving the country's education system, developing future leaders, and boosting the Higher Education Reform

CHED Scholarship Programme

The prestigious CHED Scholarship Programme allows college applicants to enrol either in public or private HEIs. The programme is open to Filipino high school graduates (including those who are yet to graduate) with a certain general weighted average:

  • Full State Scholarship Programme (FSSP) or Full Private Education Student Financial Assistance (FPESPA) - Students must have a general weighted average of 96 per cent or above
  • Half-merit Scholarship or the Half-SSP and Half-PESPA - Applicants must have at least 93 to 95 per cent general weighted average

CHED also offers dissertation and thesis grants to faculty members. The grant provides financial assistance to those who are completing research on science and mathematics, engineering, humanities, agriculture, and many other disciplines.

DOST Science & Technology Undergraduate Programme

Young Filipinos who would love to delve into the science and technology realm can apply to the Department of Science and Technology's (DOST) Science and Technology (S&T) Undergraduate Programme which offers two paths: an RA 7687 scholarship or the DOST-SEI Merit—both of which will help students pursue different fields of study such as basic sciences, engineering, other applied sciences, and science and mathematics.

  • RA 7687 scholarship - This scholarship is also known as the Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994 which allows gifted students under a particular socioeconomic status to pursue studies in the field of science
  • DOST-SEI Merit Programme - This programme is awarded to students who have excelled in science and mathematics and those who would like to pursue a career in the aforementioned disciplines

UP Department of Medicine

The University of the Philippines' Department of Medicine offers a few recognised fellowship programmes for those who want to pursue a career in the medical field. Some of these programmes include:

  • Fellowship Training in Allergy and Immunology - A fellowship programme recognised by the Philippine Board of Allergy and Immunology that offers students in-depth knowledge. It is also a joint fellowship programme between the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics
  • Fellowship Training in Invasive and Interventional Cardiology - A two-year programme designed to train fellows in performing a proficient interpretation of  cardiovascular invasive and interventional procedures
  • Fellowship Training in Infectious Diseases - Known as the first training programme in infectious diseases in the Philippines, this two-year fellowship programme has equipped students with knowledge and hands-on experiences in almost every infectious disease such as HIV and AIDS management, hospital-acquired infections, surgical and trauma-related infections, tropical medicine, transplant-related infections
