The award-winning design studio and online retailer buys B2C retailer PlayE and high-end collectibles firm Kinetiquettes in a multi-million-dollar deal

Mighty Jaxx, an award-winning design studio and online retailer of toy and art collectibles, has acquired two Singapore companies in a multi-million-dollar deal.

By adding Kinetiquettes, a high-end collectibles company, and PlayE, which sells games, cards and toys, to its portfolio of brands, the Singapore-based company said it will be able to develop new products that exist in both the physical and digital worlds.

Through the acquisition, Mighty Jaxx also obtains gaming intellectual property, including Street Fighter, Monster Hunter and Attack on Titan.

Mighty Jaxx was founded in 2012 by Jackson Aw with just a US$20,000 loan. A decade later, it has collaborated with global brands such as DC Comics, Hasbro and Netflix, and is said to ship millions of collectibles to over 70 countries every year.

In March, it raised US$20 million in Series A+ funding from Korea Investment Partners and Web3 investor Mirana Ventures. This brought its total capital raised to more than US$40 million.

In 2021, the company announced a new venture, Mighty Meta, where it is building a metaverse to offer immersive phygital (a portmanteau of physical and digital) experiences.
