Each one of these women comes from widely different fields but is connected to one another by drive and passion

There’s something special about holding an event at a building as historic as Chijmes in Singapore. Over the years, the national monument has remained a popular venue for important occasions, from live performances to weddings. So it was fitting that Zenith chose to host its Dreamhers event there this week. The Swiss luxury watch brand highlights visionary and trailblazing women by celebrating their accomplishments through its Dreamhers platform where women share their experiences and inspire others to fulfil their dreams.

Now entering its third year, Dreamhers is represented by women across the world and from all walks of life.

In his opening remarks, Zenith CEO Julien Tornare said: “Dreamhers is a concept that started in 2020, in the middle of Covid, that came to life through [live calls and] Zoom first and [evolved into a] physical event in Madrid last year.

“It’s a platform where women from different fields [are celebrated] for reaching their objectives that were at first just a dream. Yes, talent is important but more than that, it’s about hard work.”

On Wednesday (October 12), Zenith introduced its newest Dreamhers—women who are all charting their own paths in their respective pursuits. Alongside previously introduced Dreamhers Singapore actress-model Sheila Sim as well as health and wellness coach Melody Hsu, Zenith unveiled the newest members of the ever-growing platform: Japanese TV personality Horan Chiaki; Canary Islands actress-model Lola Rodriguez; violinist Esther Abrami and British motoring prodigy Catie Munnings. All six women took part in an engaging panel discussion about women’s empowerment, moderated by local host Anita Kapoor.

Each woman touched on various life experiences that helped shape who they are today as well as the people who had inspired them along the way. In a particularly touching moment, local model and positive psychology advocate Sim spoke about how her late brother, who passed on at 14 years old when she was only nine, is a constant driving force for her; she shared that she uses her memories of him to live life to the fullest, especially since he didn’t have the opportunity to do so.

A rising star in her field, violinist Abrami also spoke about how she challenged societal biases perpetuated by a former university professor who once told her there weren’t enough female composers who produced good music after she asked why the music she played was mostly written by men.

“I didn’t accept his answer. I went to do my own research and discovered so many wonderful female composers who had been superstars during their day—who wrote and published so many wonderful works. Yet, without exception, these have been erased from history,” Abrami shared.

Gender equality and women’s empowerment are at the core of Zenith’s Horiz-on initiative, driving many of the brand’s commitments and actions. With Dreamhers, the Manufacture created a platform for independent women to share their experiences and inspire others to fulfill their dreams.

On the evolution of the Dreamhers platform, Tornare stated: “I’m extremely proud to welcome so many inspiring women at Zenith. They are showing the world that no dream is too big, and that if you set your eyes on a star and dedicate yourself with passion and integrity, you can reach it.

“The Zenith Dreamhers exemplify women’s empowerment across countless fields, and we look forward to sharing their stories and inspiring other women to chase their dreams.”
