For the past 16 years, the Cartier Women’s Initiative has empowered female entrepreneurs running businesses that drive sustainable social and environmental impact around the world. To date, this international entrepreneurship programme has supported over 200 women change-makers from 62 countries with a total of US$6.4million in grants, all with the aim of finding viable solutions for the world’s most pressing challenges.

Financial backing aside, Cartier Women’s Initiative also recognises their efforts, providing a much-needed platform for publicity, mentorship and networking as the programme seeks to expand its presence in Southeast Asia.

This has culminated in the Cartier Speakers Series event in Kuala Lumpur, the first of its kind in Malaysia, organised in partnership with Impact Hub to gather impact-driven women entrepreneurs, investors, policy makers and media in a series of insightful panel discussions, fireside chats and networking opportunities.

Held at Colony at Star Boulevard, the highlight of this intimate luncheon was the announcement of the open call for applications for the 2023 edition of the Cartier Women’s Initiative. In addition, a panel discussion was also held, featuring Sunway iLabs Ventures head Dr Melissa Foo, Proficeo CEO Renuka Sena and PichaEats co-founder Kim Lim, who shared their views on how we can create thriving eco-systems for women entrepreneurs in Malaysia.

“This programme looks at who you are as business leader, what kind of team you’ve put together and what kind of change you hope to make in this world with your business,” said Cuili Ng, Cartier Southeast Asia corporate communications head to some 50 invited female entrepreneurs.
