Robers is one of the three women that had been recognised for her contributions to her industry at the Monaco Women Forum

Local tech entrepreneur Leanne Robers has been awarded the Monte-Carlo Woman of the Year award at the annual Monaco Women Forum.

According to the official website, the annual event celebrates women entrepreneurs that have “managed to achieve something extraordinary that has marked their lives and that of others”. This year’s event was themed around “the global transversal impact of digitalisation and technology in society”.

Held on March 24, the 2023 forum honoured three women, including Singapore’s Leanne Robers. The co-founder of She Loves Tech was recognised for dedicating her career to supporting women-led and women-impact tech start-ups. Founded in 2015, She Loves Tech is a start-up accelerator platform that helps to create a supportive ecosystem for female innovators.

“I did not expect to win the Monte Carlo Woman of the Year special award, which was such a surprise and honour. I met so many inspiring women here, including Princess Charlene, whom I had the pleasure of sitting next to during the gala dinner. We exchanged stories about the projects we are involved in and the impact we are excited about creating globally,” Robers shares.

Other winners include Italy’s associate professor Zimi Zawacha and Monaco’s Manila Di Giovanni.

The forum also saw a panel discussion on “how digitalisation and technology can accelerate the transition to a green economy and a near-zero cost society”. The discussion included Robers, who spoke on the difficulties which women face when entering the technology industry. She also highlighted the importance and her dedication to promoting equal access and opportunities for women in technology.

This isn’t the first time Robers has been recognised for her work. The entrepreneur was selected as an Obama Foundation Leader in 2019, and Booking.com’s Tech Playmaker of the Year in 2020. Her latest award at the Monaco Women Forum is once again showing us that her large impact on the tech industry is not going unseen.
