With enthralling traditional Chinese customs and traditions, HSBC Philippines' virtual programme to welcome the Lunar New Year was a night of abundance
HSBC Philippines kicked off the Lunar New Year 2022 with valued clients and representatives from the media through a virtual event that celebrates "abundance", infusing fortune, luck, and prosperity in perfect harmony.
After starting off with a lion dance performance to usher-in good fortune for the coming year, the HSBC Philippines head of wealth and personal banking Peter Faulhaber welcomed the attendees. "The Lunar New Year is China's biggest holiday for families and friends to get together for the festivities," Faulber said. "May this evening brings us together in welcoming the year with great possibilities and infinite opportunities. We remain committed to growing and staying in the Philippines to be of service to the Filipinos, as we continue to manage your wealth by connecting you to opportunities not just locally but globally. We look forward to continuously nurture our relationship and be your partner in this life's journey."
Feng shui master Melvin Sua shared insights to help guests navigate the peaks and avoid pitfalls that lie ahead, as well as attracting more luck and fortune in life and business.
The festivities were further elevated by "Asia's Songbird" Regine Velasquez-Alcasid when she sang the classic tunes of the Seventies, favourite compositions of the National Artist Ryan Cayabyab, as well as her rendition of the popular international songs.
The participants of the virtual programme partook "abundance boxes" filled with sumptuous Chinese specialities, curated by Shangri-La at the Fort. To cap off the meal were tiger-shaped chocolates called "Binondo", which was named after the oldest Chinatown in the world. It was a sweet treat blend of three Chinese spices, red tea, and Philippine milk chocolate.
The celebration culminated with a traditional toast led by Faulhaber, who was joined by recently appointed HSBC Philippines president and CEO Sandeep Uppal.
