Benjamin Vuchot is a respected leader in luxury retail, serving as the chairman and chief executive of DFS Group from 2020 to 2024. He is set to become the executive director and chief executive officer of The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Limited effective 3 March 2025. The parent company of The Peninsula, The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited (HSH) is a luxury hospitality and real estate group that operates a small number of ultra-luxury hotels, strategic real estate assets and tourism assets, with properties in six Asian cities, in addition to three US properties and locations in London, Paris and Istanbul.

Vuchot previously worked as North Asia president at the world’s leading luxury travel retailer from 2011 to 2017. In the interim he was Asia president for cosmetics and fragrance retailer Sephora, another member of the LVMH stable. During his tenure at DFS, Vuchot led the company through significant challenges brought on by the pandemic and oversaw major initiatives, including the ambitious Hainan Yalong Bay project in China, which is slated for completion in 2026. Before his first spell at DFS, he spent nine years as Asia-Pacific president of Van Cleef & Arpels and before that worked for seven years at Cartier. He is also an Asia board member of FilmAid, an NGO that uses film to educate and entertain marginalised people.

Shortly after his departure from DFS was announced in October 2024, HSH issued a statement confirming that Vuchot would assume the role of executive director and CEO in March 2025. He will also be appointed as a member of the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, and Group Management Board, and will be named a director of several of the group’s entities.

Born in Paris, he moved to Hong Kong in the 1990s. He is married to Asia Art Archive co-founder and co-chair Claire Hsu; the couple has three daughters.
