According to Cancer Research Malaysia, around one in every four Malaysians are affected by cancer. More than 8,400 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in women each year in Malaysia, with men also affected by the disease on a smaller scale. As Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins, hospitals across the Klang Valley are rolling out special Pink October promotions, making it easier and more affordable for women to prioritise their breast health.
Mammograms are recommended for women aged 40 and above. Beacon Hospital Kuala Lumpur recommends getting regular breast checkups if 1) You have a family history of cancer, 2) You notice changes in the appearance of your breasts, and 3) You are above the age of 40 years old.

A trailblazing force in extensive cancer support in the nation, The National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) has a history of helping families impacted by cancer to have access to necessary healthcare and support.
