The Department of Tourism acknowledged GAOC and their truly world-class quality of care
The Philippines is known for its sandy beaches, exciting culture, and renowned hospitality. Now, dental tourism is set to join these giants in drumming up more interest for international visitors to grace our shores. The Gan Advanced Osseointegration Center (GAOC) is one of the leading dental centres in the country, prominent for its world-class, patient-centric service. Acknowledging their potential to attract significant tourism, the Department of Tourism (DOT) has recognised the revered institution as the first-ever accredited dental tourism destination in the country.

The road to accreditation began in November 2023, when GAOC joined the DOT delegation at the European Medical Tourism Expo in Italy, and concluded as matters were finalised in August 2024. This monumental milestone is part of a broader push to develop the Philippines’ appeal as a health and wellness destination, with GAOC and dentistry as the focus. Much like how South Korea is famous for being the leading destination for cosmetic surgery in the world, GAOC is set to do the same for the Philippines, as the services that they provide have that unique touch of Filipino hospitality, whilst being on par with its international counterparts.
“We are so honoured and humbled by this gesture of honour that you are bestowing upon us,” GAOC chairman and chief executive officer Dr Steve Mark Gan remarked. “Filipinos are the most resilient and creative people, and by doing this, it’s history in the making. We can lead by example for the other dentists to follow, and hopefully, we can contribute to the economy of the Philippines.”

Founded as a modest practice in the historic streets of Binondo by Gan, GAOC has since grown to ten clinics around the country, while its sister clinic, Novodental, boasts fourteen. GAOC provides a wide range of top-of-the-line services, from oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontics, cosmetic dentistry, prosthodontics, and everything in between. It is trusted and consistently revisited by its patients, which include celebrities, industry leaders, and tourists alike. This speaks volumes to the quality of care they provide—Gan isn’t known as the “Dentist to the Stars” for nothing.
International travellers that visit the country can expect great things when they partake in GAOC’s services, which represents the best of what the Philippines can offer. After all, everyone deserves that perfect smile, and this homegrown institution can most definitely provide. This accreditation is only the beginning; the esteemed dental clinic has its sights set even higher as it raises the bar for others to follow.
