Vanguard Aesthetics and Merz Aesthetics co-presented the sixth iteration of the prestigious Tala Awards
True beauty is sometimes a team effort. Vanguard Aesthetics and Merz Aesthetics are key players in providing equipment, products, and other support systems to clinics and wellness centres, helping their clients stay beautiful inside and out. They have come together to present the Tala Awards 2024 to recognise companies, institutions, and individuals that have gone above and beyond in the industry. Held at the grand ballroom of Shangri-la The Fort, the event centred on the theme “Confidence to Shine,” and it was indeed nothing short of a dazzling occasion.

The spotlight was on the outstanding dermatologists, aesthetic physicians, plastic surgeons, and other individuals who have moved mountains to ensure excellence in their respective fields. They were celebrated for their impeccable services and the care they provide to their patients and clients. Guests attended the event clad in black, gold, and silver Filipiniana attire, a reminder of the great honour and prestige of the ceremony.
The night began with the recognition of the Vanguard Aesthetics Champions and Educators (ACES), a group of individuals considered instrumental to the continued success of Vanguard Aesthetics and Merz Aesthetics. Those acknowledged were Dr Aivee Aguilar-Teo, Ailynne Marie Vergara Wijangco, Dr Camille Angeles, and Dr Jonathan Nevin Yu, among others.

House of Obagi and Skin MDC Laser Dermatology Slimming Center each took home 4 awards, while The Aivee Clinic took home 6, including the coveted Overall 7-Star Award, which was presented by Vanguard Aesthetics chief executive officer Ryan Ng. “The recipient of this award is a commercial leader in the Philippine aesthetics industry,” he remarked. “We are happy that together with Merz Aesthetics®, they have helped empower countless Filipinos to discover the confidence to be and the confidence to shine.”
The event was a rare gathering of the country’s most distinguished aesthetics practitioners and companies. Merz Asia Pacific assistant vice president for regional commercial Raymond Ong praised their perseverance by quoting author Simon Simek, saying, “‘Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion.’ Tonight is your night, and we appreciate and acknowledge you.”
