One of the best ways to have a prosperous new year is to spend it with the ones you hold dear. From January 20 to January 22, New World Makati invites you to book your stay with their auspicious room packages. Their Deluxe Rooms or Residence Club Deluxe Rooms, starting in Php 8,888 nett, will include a scrumptious breakfast for two as well as a box of Jasmine’s signature handcrafted nian gao or tikoy.

What are Lunar New Years without the anticipated tikoy? It is a celebration that is never without sticky treats as these delectable delights represent a healthy bond within families and the belief that luck will stick to you throughout the year. Jasmine’s best-selling nian gao comes in two different shapes: the koi fish for Php 1,188 nett and the classic round for Php 1,088 nett. Bulk orders with a minimum of 50 boxes get a 20 per cent discount while Club Epicure members receive a 10% discount.

On top of the sweet surprise, New World Makati’s The Shop will offer its tangy and sweet combination of Mandarin Cake. The decadent dessert consisting of vanilla cremeux white chocolate mousse cake filled with orange jelly mandarin disk and orange segments, finished in shiny red glaze, is ideal for sharing with your friends and family. For only Php 1,388 nett, the Mandarin Orange Chocolate Cake is available after placing a 48-hour lead time order.

For wishing loved ones well and expressing gratitude, New World Makati has three Chinese New Year hampers from which can you choose from. Take for example the Premium Chinese New Year hamper which has items that can be used for Chinese New Year celebrations and more such as dried scallops, dried black mushrooms, Chinese sausage, Jasmine’s XO chili sauce, sweetened cashew nuts, salted espresso cookies, fortune cookies, and a bottle of wine, priced at Php 9,888 nett.
Hampers with the Mandarin cake or nian gao comes with fortune cookies and wine and goes for Php 4,288 and Php 3,888 nett respectively.

And of course, what’s a celebration without a feast? This year, Jasmine has two premium set menus befitting the Lunar New Year which signifies prosperity, longevity, and happiness. Set Menu 1 starts with the salmon yu sheng salad or prosperity salad, followed by braised abalone mushroom in crabmeat broth, wok-fried prawns in black pepper sauced, steamed fish fillet in superior sauce, braised Chinese black mushroom with sea moss and kailan, and steamed rice with preserved sausage in lotus leaf. The meal ends on a sweet note with hot cream red bean soup and lotus seeds and glutinous rice dumpling with milk chocolate, including one box of nian gao for Php 10,888 nett per table of four guests.

Set Menu 2 also begins with the prosperity salad and features braised assorted seafood in a fish maw broth, pan-fried tiger prawn in spicy bean sauce, steamed live garoupa in superior soy sauce, braised dried oyster with sea moss in premium oyster sauce, and stir-fried misua in Fujian style. The two desserts it will followed are the double boiled white fungus with lotus seeds and steamed piggy buns with milky egg cream, also including one box of nian gao for Php 13,888 nett per table of four guests.
Additionally, an a la carte selection of best-selling dishes under the Chef’s Recommendations menu and Jasmine's highly sought-after All You Can Eat Dim Sum for Php 1,688 nett per person will also be available.
