The luxurious Waldorf Astoria Bali will be located in Nusa Dua, offering direct access to Sawangan Beach, and will also feature the second outpost of The Ledge restaurant by Dave Pynt

In about two years’ time, Nusa Dua will welcome a new neighbour in its beautiful enclave. The name? None other than the luxurious Waldorf Astoria, making its highly anticipated debut in Bali

Set to open in late 2027, the Waldorf Astoria Bali will join Hilton’s existing portfolio of 16 operating and 12 pipeline hotels and resorts across Indonesia. The luxurious retreat will be located along Sawangan Beach, offering direct access to its picturesque shoreline.

The announcement of this new property was made exclusively to media and guests during a dinner hosted by Hilton Luxury Brands on July 1 at one-Michelin-starred restaurant Burnt Ends.

“Today’s luxury traveller is seeking more than just a beautiful stay—they’re seeking meaningful, immersive experiences rooted in culture and authenticity. That is why resorts are becoming modern sanctuaries, with destinations like Bali continuing to be highly sought-after,” said Candice D’Cruz, vice president, Hilton Luxury Brands, Asia Pacific in a press statement. “With Waldorf Astoria Bali, we’re meeting this desire by blending the brand’s timeless elegance with the opportunity to connect more deeply with one of the world’s most inspiring destinations.”

The location of this dinner was significant because chef-owner Dave Pynt will once again collaborate with Waldorf Astoria by bringing his acclaimed restaurant, The Ledge, to Bali. Well regarded and lauded for his mastery of open-flame cooking and custom-built grills, Pynt first took modern barbecue to the beach with the opening of The Ledge at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi in July 2019.

Waldorf Astoria Bali will feature 71 villas and 68 guest suites, placing itself as a luxurious oceanside retreat that offers elegant design, immaculate service and unforgettable experiences. Guests can look forward to everything from bespoke wellness journeys and immersive cultural experiences to destination dining and a beach club.

Offering 748 sqm of event space, including a 465 sqm ballroom and a stunning chapel for weddings, Waldorf Astoria Bali will become a new destination for local events and celebrations. Located just 14.5km from Ngurah Rai International Airport, the resort is minutes away from cliff fronts such as Ungasan and Uluwatu and will also offer easy access to hidden gems like Geger Beach and shopping arcades like Sidewalk Jimbaran.

Waldorf Astoria Bali will also offer a range of wellness experiences, including a spa inspired by traditional Balinese wellness rituals, a fitness centre and swimming pools that overlook the Indian Ocean.

Young travellers will be kept entertained by the resort’s family-friendly activities, along with a dedicated kids’ club.

Having recently launched the first Waldorf Astoria hotel in Japan, Waldorf Astoria Osaka, Hilton will also open Waldorf Astoria properties in Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Shanghai, Tokyo, Xi’an and Hanoi over the next two years.
