From curated travel vignettes to global gourmet stations and a luxury raffle, discover how Tatler Travel’s Metro Manila launch at Shangri-La The Fort celebrated the art of exploration in true style
Manila’s stylish globetrotters gathered at the Bonifacio Hall of Shangri-La The Fort to celebrate the unveiling of Tatler Travel, now a regional publication under Tatler Asia. Formerly known as Tatler Traveller and published exclusively in the Philippines prior to the pandemic, the glossy title has been reborn and is now available in nine countries across the region. Geared towards those who relish the thrill of discovery and the adventure that travel brings, the publication promises to inspire journeys imbued with quiet luxury.
Guests were welcomed with a selection of bubbly, wine and gin & tonics, alongside delightful canapés, as they explored travel-themed vignettes presented by event partner Smart Infinity and participating brands: Araw Hospitality, Cathay Pacific, D’Mark Beauty, Philippine Airlines and Sunglass Haven.

The evening’s host, Aziza Mondoñedo, then welcomed to the stage Mia Borromeo, contributing editor of Tatler Travel Philippines, who shared her excitement at returning to the fold and working alongside special projects editor Mac Fabella. “I’ve always had the fondest memories of my years as editor of Tatler Traveller; after Covid upended all that, travel is definitely back like never before,” she reflected, noting how travel has become one of today’s most coveted pursuits, from Generation X to Generation Z.
From heritage hotels to legacy airlines and legendary train voyages, Tatler Travel aims to take readers on a journey to the world’s finest places to stay, dine and explore.

The regional cover story, produced in partnership with Thai Airways, features popular Thai actor and model Kanawut “Gulf” Traipipattanapong. Other exclusive Tatler features include a first look at the newly reopened heritage hotel Splendido in Portofino—steeped in the history of the Italian Riviera—and a voyage aboard the sumptuous Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, which elevates the romance of old-world train travel to new heights.
Closer to home, newly elected Congresswoman Audrey Tan Zubiri, who also graced the event, shared moments from a private family trip to New Zealand and its breathtaking scenery. In a playful listicle, glamorous ladies Charmaine Lagman, Ching Cruz, Fe Rodriguez, Marivic Vazquez, Nikki Teodoro and Tina Cuevas revealed their favourite places to shop, dine and while away the hours in the City of Light.
This passion for travel and the desire to explore every corner of the globe also inspired the revival of Tatler’s luxury travel event, this time entitled “Unparalleled Experiences”.
Guests delighted in food stations curated by Shangri-La The Fort’s seasoned chefs, offering a spread inspired by destinations featured in the issue, such as Thailand, France and the Middle East. Highlights included som tam shrimp salad in bamboo boats, Thai fish cakes with nam jim jaew dip and fresh vegetable spring rolls; smoked salmon and caviar canapés, Gruyère truffle croquettes and spinach quiche; a lavish mezze buffet, lamb kofta kebabs and a live shawarma station. A Glenlivet bar served inventive whisky-based cocktails.
A short raffle followed, with Mondoñedo and Borromeo drawing names for prizes ranging from essential travel skincare sets by D’Mark Beauty to overnight stays at Nawa Wellness Resort and travel certificates from Philippine Airlines. Among the evening’s lucky winners were frequent travellers Tim Yap, Anya Lagman and Ricky Toledo.
