Whether you’re seeking thrilling outdoor adventures or a wellness escape, these destinations cater to women who love to explore
Travel has long been a medium of spirited discovery, but for women, it has become something even more powerful—a statement of independence, confidence, and community. The focus has shifted beyond celebration to action, with women taking on new roles as both explorers and creators of curated, women-focused travel experiences—whether through solo adventures or guided journeys conceived with safety, community and shared purpose in mind.
The industry is shifting, as noted by Cyndi Hui, Skyscanner’s travel trends and destination expert, who highlights a rising demand for tours designed by and for women.
“The rise of women travel clubs echo this idea of finding your tribe,” Hui shares. “In fact, apart from women-only travel clubs that are available online, women-only micro-communities that focus on specific passions are emerging on social media, which foster inclusivity and a strong sense of sisterhood.”
She points to women-only surfing groups on Instagram where like-minded women can connect and surf together while overseas as one such example, which also functions as a platform for female travellers to cross-share experiences and insider tips.

Online communities and niche travel clubs provide more than just recommendations; they foster a sense of solidarity. Hiking collectives and destination-specific clubs allow travellers to exchange insights, enhance safety, and create lasting friendships. This shared approach makes the experience more enriching and provides a support system that extends beyond the journey itself.
Solo travel is also gaining momentum, particularly among younger generations. A recent Skyscanner survey revealed that 62 per cent of women aged 18 to 25 are drawn to solo travel as a way to step beyond their comfort zones. In Singapore, 14 per cent of young women chose to embark on their first international trip alone—an indication of growing confidence in navigating the world independently.
Safety remains a top priority for many women when choosing travel destinations, but as women-led tours expand, these concerns are increasingly addressed. More women are now opting for under-touristed destinations that combine adventure with cultural immersion. From the striking landscapes of Patagonia to the historic trails of Pakistan and Nepal, these itineraries feature activities such as hiking, kayaking, and horseback riding, proving that adventure travel is no longer a male-dominated space.
