Due to a very good friend, who hosted his birthday party in Jaipur, I recently had the chance to visit my dream destination of majestic India, a place I have been eyeing visiting for many years now. Given the party was in Jaipur, I decided to make a journey out of it with my friends starting from Delhi to Agra, Udaipur, Ranthambore, and then ending with the grand finale of a special birthday celebration in Jaipur, “the pink city.”

And this is why I fell in love with India; It’s where traditional breakfasts all throughout the country meant enjoying your coffee and dosa, more often than not with a view overlooking beautiful palatial grounds and scenic landscapes while a flutist roamed the gardens playing melodious music. Waking up in Udaipur, “the city of lakes,” meant watching the sun rise over the water against a backdrop of the old-world architecture of a 17th-century palace situated in the middle of the Pichola lake.

Ranthambore, meanwhile, consisted of days filled with safaris and picnics overlooking amazing views, then coming back to our camp for relaxing sundowners over a bonfire with friends.

Jaipur, also known as “the pink city,” glistened with grand royal history. We toured the palace grounds in old-style carriages, enjoyed some shopping, sought pampering at their spas, and caroused at Indian parties that gave off old-world grandeur. I indulged in many a traditional Indian thali for dinner, and finally got to see a snake charmer.

This, and so much more, was the magic of old-world incredible India—land of the maharajas, maharanis, peacocks, myths, culture, history, and so much tradition. I now refer to my trip as dreamy India, which it completely was.

When I think of the word “dream,” I immediately think of magic, and if I were to think of the most magical place I’ve come across, it would be Polynesia. Having come across the Polynesian culture, its waves, and its people was a mere act of fate and to date, I have kept this as my most valued treasure.

The power and energy of the place is referred to as the “mana,” which keeps the land protected. It is the raw power of the natural forces that watch over the islands and its people, something a lot more powerful than man itself that has kept these Pacific islands a lot more intact than the rest of the world!

The waves are massive, but also are the fish, the mountains, and the hearts of the people. But do not be fooled; they are warriors at heart, and they are very aware that the essence of their land and people is richer than any gold that could be found, and they stay strong and together to protect it. Being touched by this place, for me, was like finding a stairway to heaven.

Tuscany is a place so very close to our hearts because it’s our home away from home, and where the kids and their partners, Ernest and myself, and oftentimes with our friends, escape to at least three times a year to indulge in la dolce vita and bond.
It is one of those destinations that you want to visit over and over again. We tend to veer away from the touristy traps (although I would never stop anyone from visiting the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa). We’re more lovers of the charming hilltop towns of Montepulciano and San Gimignano.

Famously known for its stunning landscapes (from the Maremma Hills to the Chianti region, we love exploring and taking in the breathtaking views), medieval towns, world renowned wine, and delicious cuisine, Tuscany offers a unique and unforgettable experience each time we go back. With its lush vineyards, towering cypress trees, and colourful wildflowers, the Tuscan countryside makes it an absolute paradise for nature lovers.
For us, Tuscany, while undoubtedly popular, is one of the most beautiful regions in Italy. It is an incredible, magical destination that should not be missed by anyone who loves history, culture, art, food, wine, and natural beauty. It literally has something for everyone.
