1. Shishi-Iwa House

Award-winning retreat Shishi-Iwa House has introduced a winter forest bathing package for solo travellers. The five-day four-night experience is centred around guided treks through the barren forests, highlighting the beauty of solitude and art of slow living. On top of treks, guests can also take part in various tours and classes including classic onigiri rice ball-making, miso-making facility tour and roasted tea tasting. When it comes to food, indulge in dining experiences that put the spotlight on Nagano’s local food and farm culture, including 150-year-old ancient soba restaurant Soba Kagimotoya.
